I love this poem bruv, was sent to me ages ago . I really repond to the life's lessons one , and the mistakes element !!AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH, but glad to say maybe I'm gradually learing from them .
I think I have read this before too Bruv. Did we discuss some of these points on here before? It rings a bell with me?
I really like some of the points she makes, but I find that some of the points are a little idealistic. It's pretty much targeted towards us in the Western World. I don't know what you think, but for me I don't feel that everyone has the opportunity to benefit and learn from the things she talks about.

You may remember it from a book which I thought you had called Chicken Soup for the Soul.
I didnt follow your point about some being suited for the Western World.
I found some of it interesting but a bit New Agey for my tastes. For example, just to be controversial, if we are here to learn lessons then why are people just as selfish and uncaring as they have always been? Or do the ones who learn the lessons not come back ;-)
If anything, when I look at the history of mankind I think we have fallen from higher ideals rather than learned lessons! What do you think guys?

Hi Bruv, what I meant about western world, is that the points she makes are really destined to those who do not live in third world countries, or countries torn by ongoing religious conflict. Yes, it's true that in those places there are lessons to be learnt/opportunities etc but I feel her text relates far more to us who live in more civilised, structured environments.
Sometimes when I look at programmes about these countries - one was on TV the other night about Iraq, I really wonder if I would want to go on living, sometimes it seems like a living hell.
Yes, I think you are right many people do not learn from their lessons in life, me included, we repeat the same things time and time again, until eventually it might sink in. Perhaps that's because we wonder if we have the power to change things in the overall scheme of things.
Can you explain your last paragraph in a bit more detail.
